Warning: The Golden Bachelorette Season 1 spoilers ahead: He’s a fan favorite of Bachelor Nation, but when does Charles L. go home on The Golden Bachelorette? While it was clear that he wouldn’t win Joan’s final rose, there’s no doubt Charles L. has secured his place on Season 1 of Golden Bachelor in Paradise.

Charles Ling, a Retired Financial Analyst from Malvern, Pennsylvania, was one of 24 contestants on The Golden Bachelorette Season 1 led by Joan Vassos. Joan, a 61-year-old Private School Administrator from Rockville, Maryland, was a contestant The Golden Bachelor Season 1 with Gerry Turner, where she self-eliminated in 12th place in Week 3 to care for her daughter, who had a medical emergency.

Charles L. was an early fan favorite on The Golden Bachelorette. He won over Bachelor Nation as early as his limo entrance when Charles L., whose wife and only died six years prior from an illness, gave Joan one of the most earnest speeches in Bachelor Nation history. He continued to win over Bachelor Nation when he looked through the Bachelor Mansion with genuine curiosity—from opening the lids to pots to checking out the freezer—and again in Episode 2 when he gave Joan another pep talk on a prom group date.

SPOILER: When does Charles L. go home on The Golden Bachelorette?

Charles Ling on The Golden Bachelorette

While Reality Steve hasn’t confirmed exactly when Joan sends home Charles L. on The Golden Bachelorette, he did report that Charles L. was not one of Joan’s four finalists who received Hometown Dates. Those were Charles “Chock” Chapple, a 60-year-old Insurance Executive, from Wichita, Kansas; Guy Gansert, a 66-year-old ER Doctor from Reno Nevada; Jordan Heller, a 61-year-old Sales Manager from Riverwoods, Illinois, and Pascal Ibgui, a 69-year-old Salon Owner from Glencoe, Illinois.

Another contestant Reality Steve claimed made it far was Mark Anderson, a 57-year-old Army Veteran from Leesville, Louisiana and the father of The Bachelor Season 28 winner Kelsey Anderosn, who went before Hometown Dates.

Though Charles L. didn’t make to the finale of The Golden Bachelorette, he’s still, by far, the fan favorite from the season, with many fans pushing for him to be cast in the first Golden Bachelor in Paradise season, if it happens. “This is hysterical 🤣 😂. Charles is a sweetheart ❤,” a user commented on a video of Charles L. on The Golden Bachelorette’s official Instagram page. Another user wrote, “Charles 😭 why do I want to cry he’s so precious.” One more user added, “Charles needs his own show.”
