Last week, Pinterest published their Fall 2024 Trend Report, which compiled all of the rising search terms on the platform across categories like fashion, home decor and— of course— makeup. With some of these makeup trends being searched up to 700% more since last year, it’s safe to say that the report is a good indicator of what we’ll see take hold as the “it” looks of the season.
Keep reading to discover which makeup trends are set to be the most popular this fall, and the drugstore makeup that can help you get the look!
Trend: Soft Baddie Makeup
Soft Baddie Makeup is trending +700% since last year– but what is it exactly? Frankly, it’s very similar to what we’ve *been* calling soft glam. It’s still a full face of makeup, but with a lighter hand and softer shades– often neutrals or pinks. Some defining characteristics include flared eye definition with winged liner, lush lashes, and defined contour to lift the face.
Revolution ultra Cream Bronzer
This is my favorite bronzer for “brontouring”– bronzing and contouring at the same time. It adds warmth but also is neutral enough to sculpt the face for definition and lift.
Salon Perfect Kitten Half Lashes
These super affordable falsies have a soft and fluffy appearance while flaring out and lifting the corner of the eye.
Trend: Glowy Dewy Makeup
Glowy makeup has been having a moment for the past few years, but the trend is still at its peak. The term Glowy Dewy Makeup is up 185% since last year, so we’re still deep in our dewy era.
Milani Glow Drops Serum
Use this as a prep step to your foundation, mix it in, or wear it alone– this radiance boosting serum will add a natural glow (no shimmer!) to your complexion. It’s a makeup/skin care hybrid with Squalene, Hyaluronic Acid, electrolytes and coconut water in the formula.
ColourPop Lite Stix
This is my favorite cream highlight to create a glowy finish. It gives you a beaming look– again, no shimmer or glitter. My favorite shade is Glazey, a neutral champagne that matches nearly every look.
Trend: Soft Cat Eye Makeup
Cat eyes are classic, and we’ve seen different variations of the trend over the years. Fall 2024’s version is softer: blended and smokey instead of sharp and defined. Soft Cat Eye Makeup is trending +105% since last year– watch my tutorial on how to create the look here.

I’m particularly excited for Cool Toned Makeup, trending +360% since last year, is back for fall! We’ve had years of warm neutral shadows, warm coral blushes, and warm golden highlighters… so it’s refreshing to see options for those who like cool shades.
ColourPop Smoke N’ Roses Palette
If you love rosy colors, this one’s for you! It contains 35 shades– a mix of pink-toned shimmers and mattes that are predominately cool toned.
essence Baby Got Blush
The essence Baby Got Blush shade Pinkalicious is a cool baby pink liquid blush adds a statement and glow (covering two trends with one product!).
Trend: Glossy Concealer Lips
Alright, this one was a little hard for me to accept. Concealer Lips is trending +92% since last year. You read that right: using concealer on your lips. However, in 2024 we’re elevating the look as using it with lip liner for more of a gradient look versus blanking out your lips entirely– watch my tutorial here. Glossy Lips is also a trend we’ve seen on the rise, and only getting more popular with searches up 175% since last year.
L.A. Girl Pro Conceal HD
This is one of my favorite drugstore concealers, and it works well for this trend as well! Tip: Apply it with a fluffy blending brush to keep it in a thin layer.
NYX Butter Gloss
You can get that glossy concealer lip look with a pale shade like Fortune Cookie by NYX. It’s a light nude you can either top your lips with or use alone. This formula is non-sticky and super comfortable.
Trend: Igari Makeup
I wasn’t familiar with Igari Makeup before seeing that it was trending +460% on Pinterest! They describe it as a flushed makeup look, and after a quick search I found that defining characteristics include heavy blush placed centrally on the face, as well as accentuating under eye bags with contour.
